Margaret Ferrin brings over 20 years experience in communication services. She has worked for a wide range of corporate and educational organizations including: The University of Maryland, The Johns Hopkins University Press, The Children’s Defense Fund, The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, The Brookings Institution, Phi Beta Kappa Society, and other educational organizations.

Peggy has served as Associate Publisher of The New Republic Magazine and The American Scholar. She has worked as an advisor to Issues in Science and Technology of The National Academies of Science, Lenz.se of the Swedish Teknikbin, and VSA arts, an affiliate of the Kennedy Center.

She has written and edited magazine feature articles, advertising copy, grant reports, newsletters, press releases, and educational curriculum. In 2006 she attended the prestigious Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference in Middlebury, Vermont, after winning a Leadership in Teaching grant to participate. Peggy has also taught at the University of Virginia and George Washington University in their publications specialist programs.

She received her B.A. in English at Earlham College, her Masters in Writing at The Johns Hopkins University and attended the Harvard-Radcliffe Publishing Procedures Course.

She has been part of the fast-paced and quality-oriented teams on magazines that have won two National Magazine Awards. Her creative management has developed award-winning direct mail packages from groups including the Direct Marketing Association of Washington Maxi awards.
